Description and Typical Usage |

| Deposit type & process - Cobalt
based deposit of Stellite 1 "type". Deposit via TIG, MIG, SMA,
or O-A. |

| Properties - Good
resistance to metal-metal wear, erosion, cavitation, and to corrosion up
to 800˚C. Low coefficient of |
|
|
friction. Generally better wear resistance than Types 6 and 12 deposits,
but with reduced impact properties. |
|
| Typically used to hardface
-seaming rolls, valve seats, rails, bearing and pump sleeves, pump
shafts, wear pads, |
|
|
bushings, saw blades, cutters, extrusion nozzles, hot cutting tools,
conveyor screws. |
